May 2012. PCAF has opened a new clinic service in Kibera, Nairobi to provide trauma care at the Woodley Clinic, an urban maternal and child health facility.  |

January 17, 2012. PCAF has opened a Wellness Clinic at Phebe Hospital in Bong
County. This mental health care training clinic for Liberian healthcare workers is the first of its kind.  |

October 12, 2011. President Barack Obama awarded Liz and Steve Alderman the
2011 Citizens Medal
at a ceremony at the White House.
The Citizens Medal recognizes U.S. citizens who have performed exemplary deeds
of service for their country or their fellow citizens.  |

April 26, 2011. Love Hate Love premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival. Featuring the Aldermans and PCAF,
this inspirational documentary examines the journeys of three families torn apart
by acts of terrorism as they struggle to pick up the pieces, build legacies of loved ones lost,
and make sure love triumphs over hatred. Executive produced by Sean Penn and directed by award-winning directors Dana Nachman and Don Hardy.

April 30, 2012. PCAF Annual Benefit, New York City. The 2012 Peter C. Alderman Humanitarian Award was presented to Eve Ensler, Playwright and
Humanitarian, and the Mistress of Ceremonies was Erica Hill of CBS News. The first Sarlo Foundation
Leadership Award was presented to Susan Ayot, team leader and psychiatric nurse at the PCAF trauma clinic in Gulu, Uganda.

November 12, 2011. New York City. PCAF held its first United States-based conference in partnership with the Bellevue/NYU
Program for Survivors of Torture and the NYU Master Scholars Program in Medical Humanism. The one-day conference, entitled
Recovery
From Trauma: Lessons from Ground Zero and Beyond, was held at the NYU-Langone Medical Center. Please check back for details on the 2013 conference.

The 2010 Peter C. Alderman Humanitarian Award was presented to Jack Rosenthal, Bill Grinker and Carl Weisbrod for their service to New York City following September 11, 2011.
Vicki Mabrey of ABC News was Mistress of Ceremonies, and speakers included the Honorable W. Kpangbala Sengbe of Liberia and Dr. Pamela Cantor.
