$5O allows one patient in Cambodia to receive a full course of treatment to heal the emotional wounds caused by terrorism, torture and war.
$150 will help offer PTSD treatment to local police and internally displaced populations in war-torn Kitgum, Uganda. We have an URGENT NEED to provide treatment in this region due to recent terrifying incidences of PTSD-induced violence by security personnel against local people.
$500 will help rehabilitate former child-soldiers in Uganda, getting them ready for school and working with their teachers through the year. We have an URGENT NEED to prepare children who are ex-combatants for the January start of the academic year.

RAISE AWARENESS
One billion people, a sixth of humanity, have directly experienced torture, terrorism, war, genocide or mass violence. For 40% of these people, the wounds are deeper than physical. When mental wounds are left untreated, efforts to rebuild societies are handicapped and too often the next generation inherits the debilitating consequences. In Africa traumatic depression exceeds the incidence of HIV/AIDS, TB and malaria combined and complicates the treatment of these and other diseases. Yet, traumatic depression and post-traumatic stress disorder are quite treatable. 80% of victims can be returned to productive lives through the Peter C. Alderman Foundation’s proven, evidence-based methods. Will you help raise awareness about this global health challenge and support the Alderman Foundation’s work to conquer it?
Rally your team, club or group. Raise awareness and funds to support one of the clinics. E-mail us to let us know what fundraiser you are planning. info@petercaldermanfoundation.org
The Peter C. Alderman clinics use a unique and proven model that combines appropriate medical and spiritual healing. In Uganda, the church provides spiritual guidance; in Cambodia a Buddhist Monastery does. Teach your faith community about the debilitating impact of traumatic depression and foster support for the Peter C. Alderman Foundation’s global work bringing together faith-based and scientific-based healing techniques. E-mail us to let us know what materials we can send you about our work.info@petercaldermanfoundation.org

“After losing Peter on 9/11, I know what it is like not to be able to get out of bed because of the pain. I also know what it is like to find a reason to live. It is people like you who help treat the millions affected by war and terrorism who are my reason.”
— Liz Alderman, mother of Peter C. Alderman
