The mission of PCAF is to alleviate the suffering of victims of terrorism and mass violence in post-conflict countries by providing physicians and other indigenous caregivers with the tools to treat mental anguish using Western medical therapies combined with local healing traditions.
The Foundation’s partners include Harvard University, Makerere University (Uganda), Massachusetts General Hospital, the Harvard Program in Refugee Trauma (HPRT), Fulbright New Century Scholar Program, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and the Cambodian, Ugandan, and Italian governments.
The Foundation seeks funding to return victims of terrorism and mass violence to productive lives. By working with expert partners, and leveraging relationships in local communities, PCAF is uniquely qualified and is highly effective in meeting its mission.
The Peter C. Alderman Foundation is named for Peter Alderman, who was murdered by terrorists on September 11, 2001 while attending a conference at the World Trade Center. Peter was 25 years old.
